Larry & Joan Rogers

Joan Rogers and her beloved husband Dr. Larry Rogers (who passed in 2019) have had a longstanding philosophy on giving: When you have more than you need, give part of it away so you can enjoy the pleasures of giving while you're still alive.

For decades, this philosophy inspired the couple to support the SPCA of Texas. In addition to the generous financial gifts they've made over the years, the couple and now Joan herself has been a significant supporter of two of our signature events: Home for the Holidays and Fur Ball gala.

Dr. Rogers had always been particularly fond of Home for the Holidays. "We love the dog houses! And the event raises a lot of money, adopts out a lot of animals, and creates a good deal of publicity for the SPCA of Texas," Dr. Rogers shared in 2017. Joan continues to honor her husband's passion for Home for the Holidays by contributing a sponsorship in his name.

Joan is a long-time member of the SPCA of Texas Legacy Society, ear-marking support for the animals in her estate plans. "The fact that you take such good care of animals is the main reason the SPCA of Texas is one of the charities that I love to support."
